… Because a life crisis doesn’t have to mean the breakup of a family. If parents take good care of their children, it is unacceptable for a family to be separated for social reasons.
After many years of suffering in her relationship with her abuser, Markéta found the courage and strength to start again. She wrote to us: „I found myself in a difficult life situation. I was a victim of domestic and psychological violence from my ex-husband for a long time. My husband also abused our son mentally.“ He was evicted but eventually allowed to return. Markéta was concerned about her son’s well-being and safety.
She managed to get a restraining order against her husband – while police investigates the domestic violence – and left to build a new home. It was not easy. Markéta earns her income working in a hospital launderette. When she paid the deposit for a new apartment in another city, she had no money left for the first rent.
Thanks to the support and financial contribution of the Tereza Maxová Foundation, Markéta could ensure that Vítek grew up without fear, eliminating the danger of her not being able to take care of her son. The new home has provided Vítek with a new sense of peace, allowing him to blossom in various ways, improve at school and form new friendships. While his father doesn’t care to see them, Markéta says that, at this point, they prefer to move on and heal.
Together we can make a difference in people’s lives and support the strength and unity of families!
